Paw-Paw's little nurse

Paw-Paw Goose had heart surgery last year and is doing great; however, Chloe Ann is still fascinated with his boo-boo. She takes his blood pressure every chance she gets! It is so cute to see how much she worries about Paw-Paw.

Nursing is HARD WORK!!! Chloe' Ann looks like she needs a nap!

Our new bundle of joy!!

We have a new addition to the Solar Family! Her name is Isabella and she is Claire's new Lee Middleton baby doll. Claire has everyone treating her like a real baby, even Maw-Maw Christine. She eats with us at the table, she takes naps, and she can not be left in the car because it is "too hot." I did not know I was going to have a 4th child to care for...little girls and their dolls are soooo funny.

Easter 2009

Here are some pictures taken of our family with my parents on Easter Sunday.

Our First Garden

Mike has been eating healthy and losing weight; notice I said MIKE! He had the brillant idea of planting a garden. The kids really got into it and here are some pictures of my little gardeners.

I have been MOTIVATED

Have you ever been surrounded by overly talented people? Those who can look at a magazine and make every dress or piece of home decor in it in a day! Well, I am not one of them. However, I have been motivated. My friend Todd is married to Kim. She is a 'Jack of all Trades'. She can sew, take gorgeous pictures, paint, and the list goes on and on. Well, if not one of those type people were enough for me to know...I now have Erin Turner. Her husband Joel and I were talking today about our families. I made the mistake and told Joel to send me pictures of his kids and he said the words that made me cringe with envy..."MY WIFE HAS A BLOG". OH NO...Another One. Needless to say, I go to Erin's blog and there it is; one more overly talented person in my life. Beautiful pictures that she had taken adorned her blog... AGGGGHHHH!!! For a moment my heart skipped a beat. How can I ever deal with all the pressure of these talented, working mothers? I am sure I am not the only one who has boxes of pictures intended to be used for scrapbooking or a closet of sale items purchased at hobby lobby with the hope to ignite some hidden creative spark. This envy soon turned to motivation and this is where my blog began.

So for all of us average mother's out there with not a whole lot of talent but a lot of good intentions, I have created the Solar Clan blog. I will not be able to show you beautiful photography, give you crafting ideas or even give tutorials on how to make anything; but I will give you insight from the crazy world that is the Solar Clan - Mike, Christy, Claire, Chloe, and Michael. I hope you enjoy and maybe Kim and Erin's creativity will rub off on me --- Probably Not!!
